Privacy Policy

Lewes Chiropractic Clinic collects, processes and securely stores the personal data of all current and previous patients, for the purposes of their treatment and it’s administration. In line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), our lawful basis for processing your personal data is that processing is necessary in order to meet our contractual obligations to you.

We take your privacy very seriously. We want to make sure that we are looking after you and your information as best we can and we ask that you read this Privacy Policy, so that you understand how we will use your personal data.

Personal Data is data that relates to a living identifiable individual. This data includes things such as your name, date of birth, address, telephone number and email address.


If you contact us to book an appointment, we collect the following personal data from you:
•    Full name
•    Telephone number(s)
•    Email address (if contacting us via the online enquiry form/our email)

 

When you attend an appointment at our clinic we also collect:

•    Address
•    Date of Birth
•    Marital status
•    Occupation
•    Name and address of your GP


Sensitive Personal Data is defined under the Data Protection Act 1998 as personal data consisting of information relating to the data subject with regard to racial or ethnic origin; political opinions; religious beliefs or other beliefs of a similar nature; trade union membership; physical or mental health or condition; sexual life; the commission or alleged commission of any offence; or any proceedings for any offence committed or alleged to have been committed by the data subject.

 

We collect the following Sensitive Personal Data from you: Physical or mental health or condition.

 

We retain your health information (consultation, examination and treatment notes) for a period of 8 years after your last appointment. The health information of patients who were age 16 or under at the time of their first appointment is kept until they are 25, or 26 if they were 17 at the conclusion of treatment, and for 8 years after their last appointment. This is in accordance with the legal requirements of the Code of Practice of the General Chiropractic Council, the statutory regulator for chiropractors in the United Kingdom.

 

We retain your personal data (name, address, phone number(s), email address, date of birth, marital status, occupation, name of your GP) indefinitely, so that we can identify returning patients.

 

We will not share your data with any other persons or organisations without your consent.
